Our OG success story, MNO was created from scratch by our team for an existing client who already had other professional beauty brands on the market.

Already working with them on the Metropolis Technology brand of styling tools, this was brought to us as a new venture to compete with the new MoroccanOil brand that was taking the industry by storm at the time.

Key Strategic Solutions

CONCEPT
We aided in the process of selecting the featured hero ingredients of macadamia oil and argan oil, feeling this gave us a unique positioning angle, providing a different exotic theme to leverage for brand development and making us more than just a copycat brand while still benefiting from the freshly created argan recognition and demand.

BRAND IDENTITY
We came up with design direction and an aesthetic that created a sense of exotic mysticism combined with a whimsical natural feel that made it stand out distinctly from the competition.

A UNIQUE LOOK

We set out to create a look for the line that was “modern natural”. We wanted to avoid the stereotypical natural, organic aesthetic that all natural-type products seem to gravitate to.

A unique bottle shape and “all over” artwork coverage made us a stand-out brand on shelves.

WEB AND MOBILE

We designed and developed a site for them that featured integrated e-commerce, a proximity-based salon locator, and a robust membership-based section for distributors and resellers where they could place orders at special pricing, access event information, download brand assets and more.

PHOTOSHOOT

As Macadamia exploded into a runaway success, it became necessary to evolve the brand to another level of sophistication. To drive this evolution we spearheaded a brand photoshoot with the agenda of making more of a luxury lifestyle connection with our audience and evoking emotions such as blissfulness and satisfaction.

We art directed all aspects of this pivotal photoshoot, which involved photographer selection, location scouting, and all aspects of styling so that the images captured would be in perfect alignment with the vision we had for the brand.

TRADESHOW EXHIBIT

A big part of the initial launch and ongoing industry presence, we went all out in our conceptualization and execution of a WOW impression at trade shows.

We wanted exotic, colorful, open, bright, and unique. Using tall vertical signage above the space from which hung sheer fabric created a sense of mystique without closing in and excluding. Natural, hand-crafted decorative elements connected our natural story, while backlit walls and fixtures glowed with invitation.

We wanted attendees to feel free to wander in and out, to explore and engage. Having an open, inviting space made our exhibit, company and brand stand out from the crowd.
